Liability for mentoring
All course information and articles were prepared by qualified and responsible health and education professionals. They are based on scientific evidence and technical knowledge together with long-term practical experience. Yet, it must be understood that all content is aimed at pre-qualified, licenced health professionals who have completed a recognised training in the health sector. Our content is explicitly not provided for non-qualified readers who may not be able to base their assessments on prior professional health education or may even misinterpret single information without relevant context. We assume that pre-qualified health professionals have the relevant skills and knowledge to assess our information and correctly categorise it by considering their own professional skills, knowledge, and experience, and by duly respecting the respective personal circumstances of each of their clients. Each learner must take themselves full responsibility for any risks and consequences that are involved with supporting their clients as healthy lifestyle mentors. In parallel, we advise mentors to conclude specific mentoring agreements with their clients, which outline their role to support them in achieving their own healthy lifestyle goals. It needs to be clear that each client is responsible for their own health and well-being. All decisions, choices, actions, and results arising out of a mentoring relationship are up to the client.
